A Sonnet to His Lady by Naimuddin Ansary

A Sonnet to His Lady
Naimuddin Ansary

Spring was there still in the air,
Nature was teeming with flowers.
We, all the friends, were busy,
Besmearing one another with hues.
It was a time of Holi festival,
She too was standing beside me,
We met each other for two Long years.
She was stunned to behold me,
With the colors in my hands.
Soon her face wore a loving smile,
Piercing the lake of my eyes.
I too smiled back to her,
And filled her pretty face,
With color of my hand and heart.
