Scientific process

WHY I WASN’T MUCH OF A SCIENCE STUDENT

Scientific process
necessitates
that input
should always equal output.

But this kind
of basic law
is anathema
to romance
and the fact that
the deepest love
is hopelessly contrarian
should be enough
to keep the eggheads out.

From the point
of view of love itself
its convergence
with sciences
happens in a process
duly noted as sex
but even that
strenuous but
empowering act
gives no reassurance
that the rules
of physical law
will be strictly followed.

All it really means
is that science
and love
can co-exist
on a particular planet.

Not Earth perhaps
but surely somewhere out there.
