Armless But Protected

Armless But Protected
The constitution of our land forbids disobedience
Though we manage to be law abiding,
But at times we are intimidated with no confidence,
By the activities of the uniform men in our hiding.

We copy the westerners to protect ourselves
But the cost of arms and ammunition,
The bane of our armlessness and selves
Must we follow western means of munitions?

Where are the powers of our ancestors?
Where are the powers of their ayeta, ìgbàdí, àféèrí- the potent concoctions?
If we must get protected, must we be armed to be actuators?
We must go back to our primitive way of protection

No more stray bullet; no more accidental discharge
We may be armless BUT we are protected and ajaj!
