THE FLAME FLOWER

THE FLAME FLOWER

Calm as the morning breeze
She stands, looking down
At the garden below
The tiny flower heads
Shivering like the fading stars
As the sun lingers and tarry
Behind the grey clouds.
A crescent moon
She hangs down from it
A flame flower
On dewy grass
Her final resting place.
